No necesariamente necesitas tener nombre diferente para poder ser extranjero en japon, si tienes por ejemplo un abuelo o padre extranjero y se nota en tus rasgos, ellos lo consideran extranjeros para toda su vida, es algo que aprendí hace algún tiempo leyendo sobre la cultura japonesa...
