Hi Everyone—I’ve been using this blog as motivation for a couple months now, and feel like it’s time to join the conversation. :)

Obviously, I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but I’ve found it really inspiring to see people in the midst of their transformations, in addition to those of you rocking it out with your dream bodies.
I’ve been overweight off and on since I was 15 (I’m 32 now) and I finally just had to accept some things:
- The whole eat less/move more, calories in/calories out conventional wisdom does not seem to work for my body. I’ve tried being super-regimented with numbers while still eating all kinds of food and it was a losing battle. It was incredibly frustrating to track every bite/stride I took and have it not seem to make much difference. I decided I had to find a way of eating that wasn’t just going to leave me spinning my wheels.
- It’s never going to be A Better Time. My life is not going to get less busy, I’m not going to roll over and accept that I’m meant to be obese like the entire rest of my family, and it’s never going to be effortless.
- I *can* do this if I’m willing to make the sacrifices. I just finished my first Whole30 and it has been fantastic for me—in less than a month, I lost over 7 inches, 7 lbs, and got rid of my frequent headaches, stomachaches, and weird fevers. Now I’m starting Whole30 Round 2 and adding in heavy weights.
In the beginning, it was a struggle to give up pasta and bread and cookies and milk, but it has been SO WORTH IT. Feeling full of life every day is so worth it. Not having my belt cut into my stomach after post-meal bloat is so worth it. Seeing my body begin to reflect who I feel I am inside is so. worth. it.
I have a loooong way to go, but for the first time in a long time, I feel like that path is in my control. We got this!!

Want a yummy healthier alternative for a sweet cold treat on a hot day? Cut up banana slices and then put peanut butter between them. Put them in the freezer for 1 hour, then cover them in melted chocolate and put them back in the freezer fro another 2-3 hours. I also suggest using dark chocolate to add antioxidants to this yummy snack.
Want.
