Technically it's possible Team B could bring some Senzus with them just like Goku did in canon.

Also Karin might bring them like he did last time - or Kami-sama himself - he did engaged in the battle with Raditz so why not now? And if he shows up... and dies - well - that could explain the need to travel to Namek later on

Yamcha was uneffected, but the destruction of the Senzus is a great blow for him and Roshi! Now they don't have any backup!
They must be very serious in their fight against Nappa. Perhaps they can hold him for a while, until the others arrive.

It’s been a while since I’ve commented. What a great way to end the chapter, Chewys! I’m glad you were able to finish it despite the setbacks you had earlier this year.

Was I the only one who predicted Yamcha would survive the Saibamen’s suicide? Yamcha is far above them now. Although he did pull a Majin Bra and let the Senzus get destroyed. But that’s our Yamcha!

I’m also not surprised that Nappa was able to tank Roshi’s Kamehameha. I Nappa’s power level in DBM canon is around 7,000 or 8,000. Salagir gave him a much needed buff when compared to the Daizenshuus which had him around 4,000. I think it makes sense, since Nappa used his full power when he fought Goku and was fairly even with him before he used Kaioken.

I can’t wait to see where the fight goes in the next chapter! I’m guessing the fight with Nappa will be much more even than in the original. Yamcha is already a bit stronger than Piccolo was at this point, and Roshi must not be too far behind him. Maybe around 3,000. I do hope the fight between Vegeta and Cui will be shown a bit, although that may be difficult since Cui doesn’t have a lot of panels to work with!

Well, everyone kind of already knew that Saibaman wouldn't hurt Yamcha, the problem is that the senzus have been destroyed. Now the real curiosity is about what is the real fighting power of Nappa from Universe 9? If he has more than 8,000 Fighting Power, Yamcha and Master Roshi are screwed, however, if NAPPA’s power is between 6,500 and 7,000 fighting power, Yamcha and Roshi have a chance to disable him or almost kills him.

See Yamcha here has about 4,000 fighting power, Master Roshi 2,500 of power, applying the Max Power multiplier of 1.5X times the power of the two jumps to; Yamcha 6,000 and Roshi to 3,750, and with kamehameha the wave of energy attack that channels the user's power in a single continuous shot of ki, the multiplier goes 2.5X times, their power would increase by; Roshi 9,375 is the Yamcha in 15,000, thus being able to seriously injure Nappa or keep him close to death. I hope this is taking into account in the fight, as the two can win if Nappa is less than 8,000 fighting power, but as he was under Cooler's tutelage, Sayajin Nappa may actually have gotten stronger. That's why it is necessary to show the Warriors' fighting power through Scouters here.

Can I give a suggestion on Nappa's final line? The translation is fine but since he just said the word "time" in his previous sentence, something like "Because it looks like I'm going to have some real fun." lands alot better imo.

I'm rather disappointed by this outcome because I feel it makes it seem like Chewys' thinks canon Chiaotzu was an absolute moron for trying to explode to defeat Nappa instead of just maybe overestimating himself especially if we were to use the PL 8000 for Nappa that Chewys says he believes canon Nappa had instead of the offical canonical PL 4000 that Nappa had.

Yamcha being a little under 3.5x stronger should've resulted in at the very least him being hurt quite a bit more. By Chewys' 8000PL canon Nappa claim, canon Nappa was around 14x stronger than canon Chiaotzu, so a difference of nearly 3.5x should've at least left Yamcha seriously wounded and probably unable fight if not moments away from death.

All that said, it's not enough to get me to stop reading this amazing series Chewys has created. Keep it up Chewys though I hope in the future you can try to be a little more respectful of the canon with comparable events.

Indeed, what you are doing, these naruto-style strategy fights, is way more engaging and unpredictable than the usual dbz formula. Power levels would lead to the latter direction, very good that you are avoiding them

Meh don't take it so seriously. Power level numbers have always been inconsistent across sagas to how much of a difference in PL really matters. Sometimes being like 10 over someone was enough to make them trash but then sometimes people who were thousands below could put up a legitimate fight.

Also, if you think of a 4000 Nappa surviving Chiaotzu's blast compared to this 4000 Yamcha surviving a saibamen blast it shouldn't be that surprising. Even if DBM and Chewys (and me too tbh) puts Nappa a good deal higher due to not being trash to Goku (there's that what difference matters inconsistency again), It's not hard to believe that Yamcha survives this with light damage.

Hell Nappa also tanked Tien's 1 handed kikoho which is surely the move in DB with the highest PL multiplying output. Tien was what, 1500ish? Tired and one handed but we know that the move can take Cell saga Tien's power high enough to push back semi-perfect Cell, so even there it should've been a blast that was close to equaling Nappa himself. But it got tanked and only damaged his armor.
So again, taking this representation as disrespectful of the canon is going a bit far imo.


I actually always wished that the saiyan saga fight went more in favor of the zteam prior to Goku showing up.
My ideal version of the fight is that Chiaotzu's kamikaze heavily damages Nappa's armor, then Tien's kikoho completely blows it off as well as leaving Nappa visibly scratched and lightly bleeding. Then the fight between Nappa and Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan leaves Nappa heavily wounded but still able to finish it. This still allows for Goku to arrive later and one shot Nappa to show how strong Goku has become, but would've given us more shine for the bois efforts.
