The world is only in its 9386th year.
As for the place, it is the two grand empires - Recolina and Fragend.

This is the story of a young wizard hailing from Fragend's capital Vrindle.

Fragend is a northern land, under the rule of a queen,
with a great number of soldiers at her command. It is not a
land of fertile soil, but is nonetheless prosperous owing to magic.

Recolina, on the other hand, is a land of naturally rich soil,
whose inhabitants do not make use of magic and therefore
fear and despise their mysterious neighbors to the north.

Before long, a war broke out between the two realms.
Magic clashed with science and its weapons.
In the end Recolina's soldiers pushed the opposing
armies as far as the gates of Castle Vrindle.

A single wizard guarded those gates.
But such was his power that he held
the soldiers off all by his lonesome . . .
