Presentación de Jisuk

Jisuk Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea and is currently living in Tokyo, Japan. Somewhere in the middle of all that, Jisuk went to the School of Visual Arts in NYC and managed to pry a BFA in Animation out of the chairman's trembling, reluctant hands.

A really long overdue response to this meme!

5) Kindest to rudest: I don’t think these come as a surprise to anyone.

Okay, let’s talk about my very first exposure to tengu!

When I was in high school (over ten years ago, so sit on that for a second), I used to play N64 games (again, dating myself) with my brother. One of our favorites was Ganbare Goemon (Goemon’s Great Adventure in English). It was great because you could do co-op mode — I would always play Goemon and he would play Sasuke. We beat this game multiple times and it’s always been one of my favorites.

It was also my first exposure to yokai. Many of the monsters, characters, etc in this game are yokai (kappa, tengu, and what have you). In the last world (the underworld! *u*) you could take a secret bus to a village called ‘Creep Village’ which was full of tengu. Karasu tengu! It was the first time I ever saw them and I was SO ENAMORED you have no idea.

You can see the level in this video… the guy narrating is kind of irritating so feel free to watch it muted. The village starts at about 2:30. The tengu are super cute so I thought I’d share. <3

If for some reason you still have an N64 in a box somewhere, I highly recommend this game. It’s got awesome music and is a really fun side-scroller and is one of my favorite games ever.

"Want a drink?"

Another pre-bedtime sketch I did last night, based on the new chapter! Oh Chiyo, you lovable dick, you.

Jisuk asked me who my favorite character was, and I actually didn’t know who to answer. But seeing as I’ve probably drawn Chiyo more than any of them, I think it may be her! (Or maybe it’s just because I can’t draw birds for crap)

Her smirk is perfect! For someone who hates feet you’re pretty good at drawing them…

Happy-ish ending part 3!  Yay!  This was so much fun to make, and I got it done in a reasonable amount of time!

Link to it on my Deviantart here.

(btw he’s hiding behind a building.  I can’t do perspective.)

Ooo a bonus appearance by giant Chiyo!
