Holy crud the Fishbones proof came in the mail! I’m happy everyone can finally see the cover. It was designed by the phenomenal adovelin. I will be taking better photos soon and setting up the Kickstarter. Stay tuned!

I enjoy your work a great deal but I have a question. When you made nabe what is the name of the device you cooked it on? Is it like a singular portable gas stove or something?

Reponse:

Thanks! Yeah, it’s just a gas cartridge stove, or portable range. I think in America they’re more commonly used for camping. It’s really easy to use — we just bought it at our local grocery store.

I was talking to my brother about women’s attitudes towards their bodies, especially regarding weight/fat, and when he said “most guys don’t notice/care about that kind of thing,” I tried to explain why it was a lot more complicated than that. I ended up telling this story.

Body image is something that’s so hard to talk about, and it’s hard to express body positivity without sounding cheesy, false, or overly simplistic. But I’m gonna try. This is only my own experience, and it didn’t magically cure me of all my body image issues - but it was a major turning point for me nonetheless.

Reponse:

As funny as it would be for Shichi to have to regularly swallow rocks — not all birds need stones to operate their gizzards. Tengu are one of those birds.
