Don’t go into this chapter expecting serious writing or you will be sorely disappointed.
This next chapter is so damn goofy I’m almost embarrassed to finish it. But I guess it’s impossible to write tanuki seriously.

[[Are Tengu talons retractable? I got the impression that they weren't. Are male or female talons larger?]]
Reponse:
They aren’t retractable (which is why he had to file them down in the ‘special chapter’) but in retrospect that would have been a really good idea. I don’t think birds ever have retractable claws, so it never crossed my mind. As for males and females, they’re the same size in proportion to their hands. Bigger hands = bigger talons. :)
Character commission! This is Shichi, the main character of Karasu, which you should all read!

I love how the colors came out, thank you so much! You’re fantastic!
It’s summer! Seeing ladies on the train in yukata made me want to draw a matsuri picture. (◡‿◡✿)

Karasu is a novel based on rich Japanese mythology, set in the feudal period. It features stunning colored illustrations with beautiful costumes. So if you’re obsessed with kitsuke (and if you follow me, you probably are), this might be your thing! http://jisukcho.com/karasu/chapters/
Oh, gosh… thank you so much! o/////o I’m honored.

"Your control is admirable, if perplexing. Didn't know that about soy though... No wonder the Oni dislike it! Anyway, I'm /sure/ that no stunningly beautiful feathered females will just happen into you any time soon! I mean, that would be cruel!"
Reponse:
"I’m sure you’re right. My life is challenging enough recently without yet another difficulty bursting through the door."
randomtengureporter :
"So, Mr Shichi, it's winter time again!" Is eyebrow wiggling a universal Tengu thing? Hope so. "How did, or do, you manage to keep that celibacy deal going during the colder months? I mean, with so many women with their feathers all preened and perfect, it must be really difficult to keep them out of your mind, right? I don't know how you do it, cousin... I really don't."
Reponse:
"I hope you don’t think any less of me for admitting this, but we have some help. Soy is an anaphrodisiac, which demolishes the sex drive. It’s a common winter food in tengu temples. In addition, most of us at the temple grew up together and were so familiar with one another that there wasn’t much room for sudden irresistable attraction.
That said, I’m perfectly capable of controlling myself — soy just makes it… less work. Unfortunately, soy is harvested in the summer, meaning Urameshiya doesn’t have a proper stock of it piled up like the temple did. As long as no one attractive comes through, I’ll be just fine…"
