Two days later, Maenwen reached the sea which he had never seen before.

According to legends, the Astreans descended from the children of the sea and her various lovers. They had a special bond with the ocean the other people didn't have.

The sea was their cradle,their confidant and first love.

They had learnt how to swim before they could walk, could foresse her mood, could read into the color of her waves.

Astreans felt so much attracted to her that most of them lived on the seaboard. Those living far from the coastline were overburdened with destitution and misery, as if they were cursed.

Maenwen went bathing and, gradually, his sorrow was appeased. The spray in his hair,foam on his face and salt on his lips revived him.
