La trama aquí es algo confusa. Las fuerzas militares inventan una arma que dispara agujeros negros. De un agujero negro sale un insecto-dragón, que pone un huevo, de donde salen muchos insectos que empiezan a reproducirse y más tarde pelean con Godzilla, y son obviamente derrotados.
De alguna manera, los insectos crean a un nuevo monstruo, Megaguirus, a partir de ellos y la sangre de Godzilla que han chupado, como mosquitos. Megaguirus es un buen rival, pero muy poco original.
