Well, no one really knows where arachnes came from, but if they are evolved creatures, they most probably came from spiders, since there are a lot of different sub species.

Eatern arachnes are similar to huntsman spiders; they are very docile, with low intelligence, and happy to play with children.

Southern arachnes are more alike camel spiders; agressive and dangerous.

Western arachnes are similar to black widows; they are more humanoid and posses human-like intelligence.

Are "Guild adventure" and monster girls on tour" connected?

Yes, both comics are set in the shame setting, and share characters and events but you don't need to read neither of them to understand the other, right, happy?

That's correct: although "monster girls" is an absurd humor comic so we ignore many of the setting in order to make jokes.
